Inspiring Change

approach

Simon's approach is informal, warm, open and flexible – where putting you at your ease though empathic listening, and being guided by your needs for support and growth are the focus of his attention. The core principles of Safety and Development underpin all of Inspiring Change's Coaching.

safety and containment

According to your own direction and needs, usually the first need to be addressed is to feel safer and securer by learning how to ‘hold' issues rather than being dominated by them. Instead of strategies that may involve manipulation, avoidance or indifference, here, your attention is respectfully invited inwardly with a quality of curiosity and kind empathy – learning how to connect to , and be with hurt or angry parts (for example) of you in a non-judgemental way. Grounded presence offers movement towards inner healing and wholeness through becoming more aware of feelings and the needs they are pointing to, within the whole of your experience. This is an area of development that is ongoing throughout the coaching programme as it is the foundation and medium for real change and continual life enrichment.

development towards your wishes

On the basis of safety and containment, movement and development is possible. What kind of world would you be living in and how would you be feeling if you arrived at your ideal? What do you wish for? What don't you wish for!? How do you wish to be and feel? Maybe you are not sure about your directions and your greatest need is for support initially, and space to allow new directions to emerge.

When it comes to setting your goals, directions and outcomes you might want to include both how you want to be on the inside and what you would like to achieve in the world. How do you want to be with others? How would you like others to respond to you? Very often others are inextricably involved in our quest for fulfilment and are invariably part of the issue brought to coaching.
